Hi, I am Shelby.

I recently joined the JP Trusted Advisor team in 2026, having been part of the disability sector for over 14 years. During that time, I have had the opportunity to support people in may different ways. My career began as a Support Worker in 2012 after completing my Certificate III in Disability and I quickly discovered that this was where I was meant to be. Since then, I have worked as a Lead Support Worker, Service Coordinator and in a variety of administrative roles with disability service providers.

With experience providing direct support to participants as well as working behind the scenes, I feel I have a well-rounded understanding of how supports work, both from a participant’s point of view and from an operational perspective. Later this year, I am also planning on starting studies in Business Administration to continue building my skills and knowledge.

As an Assistant Support Coordinator at JP Trusted Advisor, I provide assistance to our Specialist Support Coordinators and Support Coordinators so they can focus more directly on our clients. I assist with drafting documents, checking in with clients on the coordinators behalf and communicating with providers and stakeholders to ensure supports run smoothly. I take pride in being organised, thorough and reliable, knowing the work I do behind the scenes plays an important part in our team continuing to deliver quality support.

JP Trusted Advisor - Assistant Support Coordinator

“When working with NDIS participants, their families and carers as well as other organisations, I recongise everyone has unique needs, communication styles and expectations. I adapt my approach to ensure clarity, mutual understanding and high quality outcomes. I believe that by staying flexible, attentive and respectful, I am able to build positive working relationships and effective outcomes.”

I was drawn to this role because of the team’s friendly and supportive culture, as well as the flexibility and structure of the role. I also had a friend who had previously worked at JP Trusted Advisor and always spoke so highly of the team.

At 18 years of age, I wasn’t sure what career pathway to take, but once I started working in the sector and providing disability support, I knew I had found something meaningful. I love being part of a team that ensures people receive the support they truly need to live their life the way they choose. As part of my role with JP Trusted Advisor, I enjoy meeting new people, building meaningful connections and helping others feel heard, valued and genuinely supported.  Knowing that I can contribute to someone feeling this way, means a lot to me.

I would like our clients and their families to know that I genuinely care about the work I do and the people I support. I am approachable, reliable and committed to ensuring they feel heard and understood. I take the time to listen, follow through and work alongside them to make sure their supports align with their goals.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two children as well cooking, gardening and Pilates.
